BIS # 4241 TRIPLE CELEBRATION AT SHELTER, WADALA

WADALA-MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 19, 2014: On November 14, Shelter Don Bosco had a triple celebration of Children's day, YaR day and Monthly Mela day. The theme for this celebration was: "Children have The RIGHT to be HEARD".  Advocate Murugan Seelan who is CWC member for the city of Mumbai was the chief guest for the programme. The programme began at 8:00 a.m. with the registration and breakfast for the outreach boys.


The boys were shown an episode on TV from Satyamev Jayte at 10:00 a.m. Later, the programME for the day was initiated with prayers and lighting of the lamp by different boys. The theme of the day was explained by the Rector of Shelter Don Bosco. A power point presentation on 'Education and Child Labour' was done by Mr. Eustace and ,Datta featuring the plight of children in different situations. The special highlight of the day was the skit put up by Roshani Theater Group on the theme of child labour. It was well appreciated by the boys.


 Later, the boys were introduced to the Clean Mumbai movement and were asked to write a message on Cleanliness on the chart paper. It was well coordinated by the students of St. Andrews, Bandra. Post Lunch, there was a game of housie for the boys followed by talent competition. Jeevandhara, an NGO, put up their stall inviting outreach boys for their de-addiction programme at Titwala.


Around six boys volunteered to come the same evening for the rehabilitation programme. The programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Jesu, thanking all the staff and students of St. Andrews, who volunteered for this noble cause.
