KURLA-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 5, 2014: Don Bosco Publications - Mumbai launched a New Book, "To My Lovely Lady with Love" by Fr. Elias Dias, sdb with a Foreword by Bishop Agnelo Gracias- Auxiliary Bishop of Mumbai, on December 3, 2014.
The book was released on the occasion of the Provincial Community Day and the Solemnity of the Patron of the Province of St Francis Xavier at Don Bosco Centre for Learning, Kurla, Mumbai by Rev. Fr. Godfrey D'Souza, Provincial of the Mumbai Province. The book is gratefully dedicated to Rev. Fr. Joseph Carreno, SDB, the author's first Salesian Rector who instilled Marian devotion in his life.
In the Foreword, Bishop Agnelo writes: "To My Lovely Lady With Love" is a book written by an ardent devotee of Mary, Fr. Elias Dias. I would describe it as a book written from the heart. Almost every page reveals the author's deep love and devotion to Mary. He keeps the injunction of Vatican II which 'strongly urges theologians and preachers to be careful to refrain as much from false exaggeration as from too summary an attitude in considering the dignity of the Mother of God' " (LG no 67).
The author takes into account the findings of modern spiritual studies while leading the reader through a vast gamut of Marian topics and themes. This book is written in a simple and lucid style, for common people to understand sublime truths. It will indubitably enrich and empower many to pray to Mary and to hearken to Her call to each one of them to do "what He tells them to do."
On this occasion, the author expressed his gratitude to the "Lovely Lady" for Her powerful and insurmountable help for publishing the book. He also thanked Fr. Provincial and his Council and especially to a few persons who in spite of their heavy schedule of work took time to make the author's cherished dream come true.
His only aim in publishing this book is to share his love and devotion with everyone who wishes to know and imitate "The Lovely Lady whom we love".
