WADALA-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 9, 2014: As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations in commemoration of the 38th Eucharistic Congress held in Mumbai in 1964, the Archdiocese had invited each parish to have a Family Mass on the December 7, 2014. Our Lady of Dolours, Wadala organised this Family Mass and the response was overwhelming.
While the youngsters had their usual Sunday school classes from 8.00am the parents had a special session on some aspects of the document of the Synod of Bishops on the Family that just concluded in Rome. Mr. Prosper D'Souza, the catechist for Adult catechesis, prepared a well planned session on the theme, spicing it up with several real examples of family situations. The parents and children then celebrated the Eucharist, with the whole family sitting together. It was encouraging to see so many families participating in a well planned liturgy for the celebration. We plan to have many more family masses in the course of the year.
