PUNE-MAHARASHTRA, DECEMBER 9, 2014: The community of Don Bosco Youth Centre, Pune organized a 'Night of Worship' on 7th December, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the DBYC campus in collaboration with the Jesus Youth. The grand evening was open for all the youth of Pune and it was attended by over two hundred youth in and around the city of Pune. The Jesus Youth conducted the worship through hymns and songs praising God thus reminding everyone present of the words of St. Augustine, "Singing once is praying twice."
The personal testimony given by one of the youth members, Ms. Christina added a spiritual flavour to the evening that helped each one gathered to introspect the depth of relationship they shared with God. The melodious and well-chosen hymns, helped the youth to get connected with God. It helped them to thank and praise God and draw closer to him. The concluding part of the evening witnessed all the youth singing Christmas carols. The singing of the carols gave a true colour to the advent season. During the vote of thanks, all responsible were thanked for the success of the evening.
Dn. Jacob Palaparambil while addressing the youth mentioned that the youth of today are capable of doing great things as against the old bias of the elders, "The youth are useless." He also said that our father and founder Don Bosco, whose bicentenary of birth we celebrate, believed in the potentials of the youth and never lost hope in them. He spent all his energy to realize their capabilities and their potentials. The programme concluded with a song of praise leaving each one with a God experience.
