NERUL-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 17, 2014: The Annual School Picnic for the students of classes I to V was organised on December 13, 2014 to Chowki Dhani, a replica of Rajasthani village. The buses left for the venue at 8.30 a.m. and reached the picnic spot at 10:00 am.

The teachers and the students were welcomed by a traditional Tilak and refreshing Nimbu Paani. The children along with the class teachers were left to explore the place. They enjoyed the camel rides, bullock rides and horse riding as well. The culture of Rajasthan was depicted beautifully through various shows such as the traditional puppet show, magic show and show by the rope walkers. The children also danced to the traditional Rajasthani tunes along with the Rajasthani dancers performing Ghumar.

Our children took great delight in trying their hand at pottery and thus learn to mould the pots into different shapes.  After a tiring yet an educational exploration of the place, the children bought gifts for their parents and loved ones from the Rajasthani souvenir shops. Later, the students were treated to scrumptious Rajasthani food for their lunch in a typically Rajasthani style designed dining area. At the end of the day, the students were treated with complimentary nimbu paani and a packet of wafers.

The students and the teachers left for school at 4:00 p.m. with fond memories of the picnic. It was also a learning experience for all the students giving them an experience of a Rajasthani village life and the rich culture of the state. Overall, the picnic was a tremendous success making it an enriching and educative experience for students and teachers.
