BIS # 4305 CHRISTMAS TREE CELEBRATION AT DB VIDHALAYA, SAVEDI

SAVEDI-AHMEDNAGAR, DECEMBER 27, 2014: Don Bosco Vidhalaya Savedi, Ahmednagar celebrated its Christmas tree programme on December 23, 2014 with pomp and merrymaking. The whole management team was present for the programme. The main theme of the day was, "Today, the Saviour is born for you". Sr. Christina Pereira, FMA was the Chief Guest and Fr. Manuel was the Guest of Honour.  The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer song sung the by students.  On this day, Fr. Manuel completed 19 years of his priestly ordination and so, he was congratulated and prayed for, by the staff and students.  


There were different cultural items that were presented to give the message of Christmas.  The primary section presented a skit, a dance and a song to portray the coming of baby Jesus. The secondary section too presented different songs, carols, dances according to their yellow, blue, red and green groups of the school.  The college students sang carols where they dressed some students to be baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph depicting the scene of manger and situation of birth of Jesus. 


In the end, Fr. Manuel gave the Christmas message to all the students. He told them about how Christmas brought each one the peace of Christ when there is so much of violence and unease in the world. The entry of Santa Claus saw all the fathers and some teachers tapping their feet to the tunes of 'Dashing through the snow.' The certificates were then distributed to the students who had taken part in the district level Science and Maths competition.  Miss Preshita Avinash Rawde of Std. VI B won the first place in this competition.


It was a great day for Don Bosco Vidhalya Savedi since our name appeared in the district level competition. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Manisha and then all the students and teachers were served Christmas snacks. The Christmas tree celebration was done with a lot of joy, happiness and enthusiasm.
