SUKET-RAJASTHAN, JANUARY 10, 2015:
The 12th National Boscoree was held in Thanjavur, Chennai from December 30, 2014 to January 3, 2015. The 24 Scouts and 16 Guides of Don Bosco Secondary School, Salawad Khurd along with their Principal; Fr.James Nigrel,and the Scout Masters Mr. Vikas Virginia , Mr. Harish Kumar and Sr. Florencia Minj participated in it. There were around 150 Schools that participated in the Boscoree Camp. It was divided into 15 Sub camps and all the Competitions were held within these Sub Camps to keep the spirit of Scouting alive and active.
The Scouts of Don Bosco Secondary School ,Salawad Khurd were placed in Sub Camp 5 .The Chiefs of the Sub Camp 5 were Dr. Paul Sunder Singh Br. Praveen (INT)and Br. Herwin (INT).The Camp was well organized and was filled with many activities. The various competitions which were organized were March Past, Physical display, Pioneering Project, Colour Party, Peace March, Theme Presentation, Camp Fire, Pageant Show, Cooking Competitions, Drawing Competitions, Rangoli Competitions, Quiz and Best out of waste exhibition etc.
Don Bosco Secondary School, Salawad Khurd Scouts took an active part in all the events .They came first in the Sub Camp 5 and bagged the Trophy and the Shield. It was indeed an enjoyable and educative Boscoree experience filled with scouting activities. The Scouts were congratulated by the Camp Chief and the Sub Camp Chief for their marvelous and outstanding performance in the camp, and they were appreciated for their hard work.
It was a learning experience and a memorable event for the Scouts and Guides as it was the first time they had participated in such a mega event in their life. The excitement was built up at the Guinness World Record of them, wearing a newspaper hat. ‘Long live Don Bosco and Baden Powell.’
