BIS # 4334 ANNUAL DAY GATHERING 2015 AT SAVEDI

SAVEDI-AHMEDNAGAR, JANUARY 28, 2015: On January 21, 2015, Don Bosco English Medium School, Savedi, Ahmednagar celebrated its Annual Day.  The theme for this year was "WE ARE ONE IN DON BOSCO – 200". The Chief Guest for the programme was Mr. Sangrambhai Jagtap, the Mahapor and the Amdar of Nagar. Mr. Sampat Bharaskar, Nagar Sevak of Nagar was invited as Guest of honour who is also a past pupil of the school, along with the management of the institution. The anchors for the Annual Day were Miss Bhakti Kanade and Miss Tanushri Bhoka of standard VI who were good at anchoring.  


The programme started at 6:00 p.m. where dignitaries were welcomed by an 'Aarti.' They were then escorted to the hall with flag bearers marching alongside. The Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the management honoured Don Bosco by garlanding the statue and lighting of the lamp. Fr. Anthony Goyal, the Principal of the school introduced the dignitaries and felicitated them.  The fourteen scholarships of the school were given to the deserving students by the Chief Guest.  


The following programme was staged by the different classes from Lower Kindergarten. to VII with the help of their class teachers.  The L.K.G. performed a dance on the song 'Rain over me' which was followed by the Upper K.G. dancing on the song 'Wait with me tonight'.  The Chief Guest in his message appreciated the work that the Don Bosco institute had been doing in Ahmednagar and also applauded the good results achieved by the school and wished the students.  He promised to repair the speed-breakers and also level the slope that leads to the school. 


Since the school had decided to present on the theme 'We are one in Don Bosco', they put up dances representing different states of India and their cultures. The students from standards I-VI danced to the tunes from Gujarat, Punjab, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Since this year being the bicentenary of Don Bosco birth the students of standard VII put up a short musical on the life of Don Bosco. 


The Manager and the Rector of the institution, Fr. Manuel Murzello was invited to give his message.  He spoke of Don Bosco who was ahead of his time concerning education. He said, "Education should be student friendly. We should imitate Don Bosco and become someone great in the future." Teachers Oshian, Elvina and Nesha put up a fusion dance involving many students in the same. Three hundred and fifty students participated in this annual programme. At the end, the vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Shaila Missal and National Anthem was sung by all.
