NAGPUR-MAHARASHTRA, JANUARY 29, 2015: The process for the Beatification and Canonization of 'The Servant of God'- Sr. Marie Gertrude Gros, the Co-foundress of Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate began on January 25, 2015 in the Archdiocese of Nagpur.
Having received the rescript and instructions from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints for the Canonical Recognition of the Mortal Remains of the Servant of God, the procedure began at 8.00 a.m. under the inspection of Archbishop Abraham, Mother Superior, counsellors, canonization team of Nagpur, doctors, civil authorities and police officials.
The mortal remains were exposed to the faithful at 5.00 p.m. All the faithful were allowed to have a look and see the grave and the mortal remains of the servant of God – Sr. Marie Gertrude Gros. She was buried in Immaculate Convent Chapel, Nagpur on March 22, 1905.
