LONAVLA-PUNE, JANUARY 14, 2015: Don Bosco Aspirantate and Apostolic School, Lonavla inaugurated the Don Bosco Month on January 10, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the entrance of the Aspirantate building. The theme for the month is the Strenna of the Rector Major ‘Like Don Bosco, with the young, for the young’.

The inauguration began with the lighting of the lamp by Fr. Solomon Rapol, Rector, Fr. Gregory D’Cunha, Administrator, Cl. Clarence Martis and the six captains of the Bosco month teams. The theme of the month was explained by the compere after which, the incident of Don Bosco taking the young prisoners for a picnic was narrated which highlighted the meaning of the theme. The Rector was invited to cut the ribbon and thus declare the Don Bosco month open. He then invested the six captains with a badge of Don Bosco symbolising their role as leaders of their respective teams.

The captain of the Don Bosco Sodality gave the sermonette on the topic ‘Don Bosco and Poverty’. Thereafter, Fr Gregory was invited to unveil the calendar of activities for the month. This was followed by the Rector giving the Aspirants and Apostolic boys a message for the month. He told them to know, love and pray to Don Bosco during this month and he assured them that Don Bosco will bless them all.

The inauguration ceremony ended with the Bosco anthem specially prepared for the month. The Don Bosco Sodality, which is organising the whole month, has lined up a series of activities which will help the community to know, love and imitate Don Bosco.
