BIS # 4345 DON BOSCO CELEBRATES ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DAY

LONAVLA-PUNE, FEBRUARY 2, 2015: Don Bosco High School and Junior College celebrated its Annual Thanksgiving Day on January 30, 2015 from 5.30 p.m. onwards on the campus grounds. The Chief Guest for the day was Fr. Bernard Fernandes, former Principal of Don Bosco, Lonavla. The Guests of Honour were Mr. Ramkrishna and Mrs. Lalita Gupta, parents of Master Akshay Gupta (secured the highest percentage in SSC Exams).


The programme began with the dignitaries being escorted to the venue with a Lezim dance. This was followed by the felicitation of the dignitaries. The Chief Guest reminisced his days in Don Bosco Lonavla. The comperes introduced the cultural items which were based on the Salesian provinces of India.


There were dances from the states of South India, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Kashmir etc. The students put up a spectacular performance. The Management was also felicitated for their presence and support to the institution. 


The bicentenary PowerPoint presentation gave a rich knowledge of the life of Don Bosco and his works which have spread throughout the country. The Annual Report brought to everyone's attention the various activities held during the year. The deserving students received recognition for their achievements during the last scholastic year. There was also lucky draws held and many lucky parents received a prize. 


The programme ended with the Bosco Anthem, prepared by the Aspirants followed by the vote of thanks by the Principal, Fr. George Carlos and the school anthem. It was an evening of thanksgiving and a display of talent.
