LONAVLA-PUNE, FEBRUARY 2, 2015: Don Bosco Aspirantate, Lonavla celebrated the feast of its father and founder St. John Bosco on January 31, 2015. Many groups of the Salesian Family participated in the festivities.
The festive Eucharist was celebrated at 11.00 a.m. by Bishop Emeritus Valerian D'Souza. The Parents of the Aspriants and Apostolic boys, the FMA sisters and girls, boys of Maria Ashiana, Teachers of the school and college, Cooperators and Past Pupils along with the Salesian community attended the Eucharist. The Bishop in his homily, stressed on the virtue of accepting others and how Don Bosco was loved because he accepted the youngsters.
The Eucharist was followed by a fellowship meal. The Aspirants and Apostolic boys put up a splendid programme for their parents as they were celebrating Parents Day. The programme included songs, skit and dances. They gave their parents cards which they had made. Post snacks, the Aspirants and Apostolic boys geared up for the Bosco Nite which began at 6.30 p.m. It included various paper games on the life of Don Bosco. The boys participated well in the Bosco Nite. The team 'Capriglio' emerged winners of the Don Bosco Month.
The Rector, Fr. Solomon Rapol, congratulated all the teams for their efforts during the month to know and love Don Bosco. He also congratulated the Don Bosco Sodality for the efforts taken in organizing the Don Bosco Month. Don Bosco, Lonavla was truly blessed to have such a wonderful celebration in honour of the father and teacher of the youth.
