GUJARAT, JUNE 6, 2015: Over a hundred children at Don Bosco Bhavan Savedi, in Ahmednagar, spent their summer holidays learning how to cook, dance, sing, draw and make mascots amongst a host of other activities during the month-long summer club that began on April 15.

Deacon Roshan Gonsalves and Brother Agnel Dias, who ran the club, ensured that 130 children who had registered for the event spent their time constructively.

Parents were charged a fee of Rs. 100 for the event. Cricket, football, basketball and volley ball tournaments were part of the agenda but when temperatures soared to 38 degrees celsius at times, several indoor activities kept the children busy.

Father Antony Goyal conducted english speaking classes, while rangoli and hair styling classes were also held. The organisers followed a points system, throughout the event, to help discipline and keep participants interested.

The summer club ended with a picnic at a resort. The children splashed in the pool, the whole day long. This was followed by the closing ceremony, on May 16, with Father Cedrick Sankul, the Chief Guest, distributing prizes to every child. As the old adage goes, 'All's well that ends well!'
