THANE, JUNE 10, 2015: The management, staff and students of Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS) in Walvanda gave Father Ashley Miranda SDB - the councilor for formation - a rapturous welcome on June 2.
Father Miranda is in the area to assist in the formation of Salesian scholastics and to accompany teams during their field activities to understand the people and the relevance of development work in the area.
Father Anaclete D'Mello, Director of BSVS, lauded Father Miranda for his work and reaffirmed that his experience would benefit Salesian scholastics.
The BSVS works for the overall development of tribal youth in the district of Thane, Maharashtra. Poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition are the main concerns of tribes in the area.
In a separate function held on June 2, Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI), Walvanda also welcomed Father Miranda.
