BIS #4471 AWARD FOR FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS

MUMBAI, JUNE 27, 2015: Shelter Don Bosco claimed yet another award for its contribution to the upliftment of street children in Mumbai.

 

Father Gregory Almeida, director of the shelter, accepted the 'Felicitation award' from Dr Harshdeep Kamble (IAS), Commissioner, Food & Drug Administration, Government of Maharashtra, at the Karnataka Sangh Auditorium on June 26.  

 

Vision Rescue and Crime Branch (Anti- Narcotics), Mumbai felicitated Shelter Don Bosco, for spearheading the fight against drug addiction.

 

The institution has organised a number of drug prevention programmes to help youth avoid and beat the drug habit.   

 

College-going youth organised a silent play, entitled 'Drug Free Campus' to stress on the importance of keeping youth off drugs.   

 

Principals and teachers from different schools and colleges present, pledged to say 'No' to drugs.

 

Benny Dayal, a renowned singer and the band 'Funktuation' added a musical touch to the event and kept those present entertained.
