NAVI MUMBAI, JULY 2, 2015: The special Value Education assembly programme for standard five students of Don Bosco High school, Nerul was held on June 30.
The theme for the academic year is 'Cultures of the world' and students chose to showcase Brazilian culture through skits, dance and soccer.
Teachers, Kanchan and Mamta, tailored the programme to depict Brazil, a land of contrasts.
Brazil is the largest country in South America. Brazil, until 2010, had one of the world's fastest growing major economies as well.
The primary objective of the programme was to depict the rich culture of Brazil.
Teachers and students captured this through the famous Brazilian carnival and football.
Football was chosen because it is Brazil's national sport and is one that the country has excelled in, on the world stage.
At the end the students gave the audience a virtual tour of Brazil, through a video presentation entitled 'Glimpses of Brazil' where ten tourist places were showcased.
