CHINCHWAD, JULY 22, 2015: The Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra joined forces with SKF, a leading global engineering powerhouse, to set up a new workshop named YES at Don Bosco Chinchwad on July 20.
YES stands for 'Youth Empowerment at SKF' and as the name suggests, its goal is to empower youth to make a difference in their lives.
YES is SKF India's flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme for vocational skill development. The workshop will help youth by improving their skills, with a focus on employability and entrepreneurship.
Top management from SKF India were present at the inauguration ceremony. They included KC Mehra, Chairman, Board of Directors, Heman Hattangady, Independent Director and Chairman of CSR Committee and Shishir Joshipura, Managing Director.
The Pilot group of SKF at Don Bosco Chinchwad had 40 boys and 1 girl who finished their batch this May with an employment rate of 85%. At present they are 2 batches of 30 students, of which three are girls.
