BIS #4580 PARISH FEAST CELEBRATED IN JAITALA

by BIS Correspondent

NAGPUR, OCT 12, 2015: The feast of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Jaitala, Nagpur was celebrated on October 11.

The festal celebrations were initiated with a novena, which aimed at preparing the parish for the Sacrament of Confirmation- which will be administered later in the year to about 30 youngsters.

The theme for the novena was based on Galatians 5:22 where Saint Paul encourages the faithful to grow in the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

This overlapping theme was emphasised through liturgical animation by the various zones and activity groups in the parish, besides the homilies of the visiting priests from the neighbouring parishes of Nagpur city.

The liturgy of the feast day began with a solemn procession. The parishioners were in full attendance at their parish feast.

Holy Mass was animated by the youth with prayers, dance, singing and an aarti.

Father Dominic Peter, headmaster of Saint John's High School, Nagpur was the principal celebrant. He explained the need to grow in the fruits of the Holy Spirit in the contemporary world, using everyday examples and illustrations.

The fellowship meal which followed, helped the faithful to interact and share some light moments; while relishing a sumptuous meal.
