BIS #4596 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

By Fr George Dabreo and Fr Bento D'souza

MUMBAI, OCT 28, 2015: The religious and laity of Don Bosco Parish, Borivli joined forces to ensure the mission-centric weekend, celebrated on October 24 and 25, had a lasting impact on the lives of parishioners.

Father George Dabreo, the main preacher, focused his homilies on the mission of baptised people in society today. He reflected the theme in context of the Mission in Marathwada.

During his homilies, he made an appeal to the hearts of his listeners to pay heed to the mandate of Jesus to his apostles to go, reach out and empower all people of goodwill irrespective of caste, creed or religion, called to the Kingdom of God by Jesus of Nazareth.

The collections, from the mission, will go towards the building and growth of the Marathwada Mission in Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BKVG) Waluj, Aurangabad.

Rector Major  of the Salesians, Father Angel Fernandez Artime encouraged this pastors world-wide to give their best to the poorest of the poor.

The youth of Borivli used their creativity to highlight the range of services that BGVK- Waluj provides to the disadvantaged.

A presentation  was made on programmes such as farmer-support, women's  development, tailoring and beautician training, income generation schemes, human rights protection for families,  medical assistance,  children's activities, cultural and entertainment events and seed distribution to farmers.

A mission fete, organised by the youth, brought colour, fun and helped people reach out to the Missions.
