BIS #4598 YOUTH CONVENTION AT JHABUA DIOCESE

JABHUA, OCT 29, 2015: The Youth Director of the Jhabua Diocese, Father Sonu Vasuniya and the Animators organised the Youth Convention for the diocese from October 21 – 24 at the Dungripada parish. 



The Youth Convention- attended by almost 500 youth from different parishes-  began with a prayer service. It was themed on 'Love, Mercy and Peace.' 

Speakers were invited to address the youth on issues pertaining the present, past and the future. 

Jason Thomson from Indore spoke about the enthusiasm of the youth. He focused on three things: enthusiasm, communication and respect. 

Father Rocky Shaha, public relations officer of the diocese spoke about the use and misuse of media. He helped the youth understand how to use media wisely for the Church's good. 

Father Pratap Bariya spoke about the Bhili culture. He invited the youth to preserve the Bhili culture.

Apart from the talks, there were also spiritual exercises like the celebration of the Holy Mass, Confessions, night prayer, Rosary and procession of Mother Mary. 

Father Vasuniya and the youth were specially grateful to Father Pratap Damor, Father Glen Fernandes and Father Michael Bansode who were always present at the Confessional. 

The charismatic prayers moved the youth deeply, with many testifying to be with Christ and to be loving, merciful and peaceful.

The Youth Convention concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by the newly elected Bishop of the Jhabua diocese, Bishop Basil Bhuriya. 

In his sermon, he exhorted the youth to use the media wisely in their daily lives. Addressing the youth in their lingo, he suggested they use their mobile phones for good works and not for  'time- pass'. 

The youth thanked Father Vasuniya and the animators for making it  a memorable experience for them.
