by Shaju Paul

KUWAIT, MAR 23, 2016: Two hundred and twenty eight catechism students from Saint Therese of Child Jesus Parish in Kuwait attended the day-long Faith Festival programme, entitled 'Year of Mercy' at Saint Chavara Hall on March 19.

The programme was organised by the Syro-Malabar Catechism ministry and students- from standard one to twelve- were guided by 11 catechism teachers and 15 volunteers during the session.

Shaju Paul Konnackel, the main coordinator of the programme, welcomed all the participants and thanked the parishioners for all the support he received while organising the event. Then, the parish priest, Father Blany Pinto, inaugurated the programme.

Father Johnson Nedumpurath, the priest in-charge of Syro-Malabar catechism, invited each participant to gain more knowledge on the Year of Mercy and reminded them that the goal of gaining knowledge was to grow in mercy and forgiveness.

The activities organised during the day - like a Bible quiz, Bible Mime, drawing competition, action songs and skits - were designed to help the participants to acquaint themselves with the Holy Bible and the Year of Mercy. Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Nedumpurath as a grand closing of the festival.
