MUMBAI, OCT 6, 2016: No Man Can Live on an Island - was an apt hymn sung for 'Association Day' conducted on October 1, at Dominic Savio Parish, Wadala where 20 teams and cells gathered together .
The event began with a prayer. The parish priest, Father Savio D'Souza, spent some time explaining the importance of 'Association Day'. The session was divided into two parts. In the first half, all were briefed about each association's success story. It provided an insight into what the various groups were doing.
Later, depending upon the dynamics and sensibilities of the cells, groups were created for an activity to foster better working relationships. After the group discussion, Father D' Souza shared the collated feedback - which had many useful ideas - to enhance better networking. These were to be implemented during the year.
The session was interlaced with games and snacks. Much effort was taken by the various association heads to make charts that were displayed around the church hall. The charts explained the aims and objectives of each association.
The event was organised by Father Brian Moras and his committee. Father Moras shared tips on effective networking. Quoting Michael Jordan, he said, 'Talent wins games, but Teamwork and Intelligence wins Championship.'
And even though it rained outside, inside that hall there was a feeling of warmth as everyone realised that working as a 'TEAM' – Together Everyone Achieves More - is better.
