by Agnorra Aranjo

MUMBAI, NOV 9, 2016: Nearly 200 altar servers, together with their animators from 11 Salesian parishes from the Mumbai province, participated in a Salesian Altar Servers' rally entitled "Blessed are the Merciful" that was held at Don Bosco parish, Borivli on November 6.

The objective of the annual event was to bring together the altar servers for a day of learning, sharing and celebration to motivate them to grow holistically as individuals and as a group.

The theme of the rally was inspired by the Year of Mercy and the World Youth Day 2016. The day's programme included a session which helped the altar servers discover how they could be merciful at home and at school, a well-animated Holy Eucharist and the enactment of several parables of mercy.

The children and their animators had been preparing for the event since September and participated whole-heartedly in all the activities. Father Leon Rodrigues with the the Salesians and the youth of Don Bosco Borivli, organised the activities and the logistics for the rally together with the Don Bosco Youth Services team.
