CHHOTAUDEPUR, NOV 12, 2016: Sixteen teams participated in the Under-19 state level football tournament for women that took place – for the sixth time in the academic year - at the House of Don Bosco, Chhotaudepur on November 9.

The tournament was organised by the Gujarat Sports Association, Gandhinagar and saw teams from Chhotaudepur, Baroda City, Amdavad Rural, Rajkot City and Amreli among others lock horns for top honours.

Amdavad Rural and Rajkot City made the final, with the former – thanks to a hatrick from Mansi Vakharia and a goal from Hetanshi - lifted the coveted title.

Vakharia helped her side dominate from the first half itself by showing off her speed, strength and accuracy. She found the net in the 18th, 24th, 27th minute, while Hetanshi added the finishing touches to help her side take an unassailable lead.

A word of thanks was extended to the District Sports Officer – Chhotaudepur, Laxmansingh Chauhan who has been consistent in giving approval for hosting tournaments in the Chhotaudepur region.
