KUWAIT, NOV 21, 2016: In conclusion to the yearlong celebration of the 'Jubilee Year of Mercy,' the Malayalam committee of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus parish in Kuwait organised a pilgrimage on November 20, to the Church of Our Lady of Arabia, Ahmadi- declared by the Bishop as the Holy Door of Mercy – to make reparation for sins and receive blessings.

The 700 pilgrims were guided by Father Johnson Nedumpurath. They prepared themselves with the Sacrament of Reconciliation the day before. The following day the devotees - in 20 buses - began their journey and recited the Holy Rosary along the way.

At the venue, the Sacrament of Reconciliation was made available for those who could not avail of it before. Father Johnson Arasseril, assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Arabia Parish, led the Holy Adoration followed by the Divine Mercy chaplet.

The rite of the closing of the Holy Door of Mercy concluded with the profession of faith by praying the Creed and prayers for the intention of  the Holy Father, Pope Francis. The pilgrimage concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Father Nedumpurath.
