PUNE, DEC 5, 2016: The secondary section of Don Bosco School, Yerwada enacted the Hollywood blockbuster Maleficent as part of their annual Thanksgiving celebrations on Dec 2.

This year Thanksgiving celebrations were done with a twist with the primary, pre-primary, secondary, junior and the senior college choosing to have individual Thanksgivings in a bid to provide more opportunities for the students and acbigger platform to showcase the creativity of the teachers.

Various committees, from the secondary section, were set up to work on different areas like costume designing, stage, background, dance and performance. The 1hr and 50mins show featured over 600 students and was appreciated by the audience that came in large numbers.

"I had seen the movie earlier, but when they brought it up as a play for Thanksgiving, I wondered how will it pan out but they made it happen," Father Bosco D'Mello, the Principal, said.

"A special name I would like to mention here is of teacher Mehtab who came up with the idea of Maleficent, her persistence and confidence made me agree to the concept and she was very ably assisted by Teacher Lucia, and I must say, they did an amazing job."

Mehtab Shinde, who directed the play- and was assisted by 40 staff members of the secondary section - said it was team effort that made it possible. "I only brought the idea, but they all continued with it, more often I would just imagine the scenes and the costumes and put it forth to the committee and they always came up with things better than my imagination, no doubt that is a result of absolute team effort."
