CHINCHWAD, DEC 29, 2016: Many slum children and their parents celebrated their first Christmas at the Don Bosco campus in Chinchwad on December 25.
The Christmas tree party was organised for over 150 children from eight slums of Pune, who attend the regular tuition and support classes run by Don Bosco in collaboration with AXA Business Services.
The children came dressed in their party attire and were given Santa Claus hats. The party began with a short prayer service, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, action songs, group dances -Christmas and cultural- and games.
The surprise entry of Santa towards the end, sent the kids in a tizzy. Santa distributed gifts, cake and snacks to all. Amidst the fun and frolic, the children were also given the Christmas message: To share and to care for all.
