UTTAN, APR 15, 2017: The Don Bosco High School, Borivli vocation team organised a preparatory camp - in view of the vocation camp- for 18 boys of class seven and eight on April 11.
Father Mylin Noronha was the chief speaker and resource person of the day. Claudina Pereira, a Salesian co-operator was also present for the camp.
The boys were asked to assemble at the Gorai Jetty from where they left by ferry for the camp's destination- Boscowadi, Uttan. Once the campers reached Boscowadi they were initiated into prayer.
Father Leon Rodrigues was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist. During the homily he helped the boys understand that God calls everyone but that he had specially choses some to 'work in His vineyard'. He shared with them his vocation story and told the boys how he was specially called to be a Salesian priest to serve at the table of the Lord.
After a few games organised by the volunteers- Narry Tellis and Joshua D'Souza of the Don Bosco Youth Movement - Father Noronha conducted a session for the boys. Through an activity he made the boys understand the meaning of the term 'vocation'.
"We have been created by God in his image and likeness and our ultimate goal, our ultimate destination is to reach back to him. In life we move from place to place, we move to varied destinations but we need to realise who is guiding us through our journey. We need to let God guide and help us reach our ultimate goal," Father Noronha said.
Various tournaments and activities were conducted during the day and the boys enjoyed themselves while coming to understand God's call in their life. The camp ended at 5.30 pm.
