NAVI MUMBAI, AUG 23, 2017: Over 150 past pupils - from 2012 to 2017- and staff of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul met at the 2017-18 edition of the Don Bosco Alumni meet on August 15.

The theme for the meet was 'Don Bosco lives on' and it gave the past pupils an opportunity to reminisce about their school days and meet their teachers and old friends. The Principal, Father Donald Fernandez inaugurated the inter-batch football league matches for boys and inter-batch basketball matches for girls. Heavy showers didn't deter the boys from showing off their football prowess, but the basketball matches were called off due to a slippery court.

A welcome ceremony followed in the assembly hall, with Father Fernandez welcoming the past pupils. "Welcome back home," he said. "You are part of our Salesian family." He exhorted the past pupils to be a part of the Salesian Youth Ministry of Don Bosco, Nerul. He also spoke about the various changes brought about in the past year and the progress made by the school in different fields.

A session of discussion saw the students sharing ideas and experiences about ways in which the alumni could cooperate and fulfil the objectives of the association in future. Suggestions like organising workshops and seminars for the present students, charity events, games, inter-batch matches, festival gatherings and reunions were welcomed by all.

A dance performance by Laughy Paul from the 2014-2015 batch followed. DJ Reon, from the 2015-2016 batch pumped up the tempo, and got the alumni jiving on the dance floor. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony where the winners of the inter-batch football match received trophies.

"We truly are humbled by the show of love and support that we have received from our alma mater today. We will surely carry forward the Salesian legacy and let Don Bosco live on," Vanessa, from the 2013-14 batch, said.
