MUMBAI, AUGUST 23, 2017: Kurla-based Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) arranged for a free health camp for 150 teaching, non- teaching and support staff of Don Bosco Centre for learning (DBCL) on August 18, in a bid to ensure all stakeholders remained healthy.
Father Leon Cruz, administrator, DBCL Kurla, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Vijaya Jagadale, district chairperson, Lions Club, Ghaktkopar, Doctor Arvind of Kohinoor Hospital, Kurla (W) and Florencia D'Souza, social worker from Holy Cross Medical Trust, Kurla.
A team of doctors from Lions Club, Ghatkopar conducted a battery of tests, which included ECGs, eye check-ups, random blood sugar, blood pressure, height and weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), and Pulmonary Function Tests.
Royal D'Souza, NSS co-ordinator of DBIT and a senior programme co-ordinator for Social Outreach Project of DBCL, with support from the first year student volunteers from Don Bosco Management Studies (DBMS) spearheaded the initiative.
Those in need of further treatment will be assisted by Holy Cross Medical Trust, Kurla at a concessional rate. "It was a reminder to take care of our health, which we take for granted in the busy schedule," Vaishali Kavathekar from DBIT, said.
