MUMBAI, SEP 11, 2017: Shelter Don Bosco celebrated teacher's day on the September 6, with a short felicitation programme by inviting the teachers of the various schools where the children do their schooling.

Suman Kallur, Sangeeta Jadhav and Vilas Khandare from Satabdi BMC School, Naveen Singh from Nadkarni park BMC school, Ruchi Thakur and Sujata Randive from Dayanand Balak Vidyalaya were the teachers present for the celebration as the guests of honour. The programme began at 10:30am. Vijay Jaiswal showed the boys videos depicting the importance of teachers. The programme consisted of two dances on the songs - 'Love you zindagi' and 'All is well'.

One of the shelter boys Yuvaraj Pandey gave a speech in honour of all the teachers. The teachers enjoyed the dances and congratulated the boys for it. Khandare addressed the boys with his words of inspiration, saying, " Remember to pray for your mothers, who are your first teachers."

Khandare also explained to the boys the difficulties teachers face to teach students and help them study. He said, " Discipline is the key without which you will not learn anything". Father Roshan Gonsalves from Shelter Don Bosco proposed the vote of thanks and thanked all the teachers for their service to the boys. He also thanked the children who teach a lot of things indirectly to their teachers.

The teachers were given a sapling each, as a token of appreciation to continue their work of nurturing lives. After the programme the teachers had snacks with the Shelter staff. The teachers then left Shelter Don Bosco with happy memories spent with their boys.
