PUNE, SEP 11, 2017: Students from the secondary section of Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Pune, under the guidance of the Principal Father Bosco D'Mello organised Teacher's Day celebrations that stretched for two days at the institution on September 5 and 6.
The long fun-filled extravaganza included a series of games like ping-pong, box-cricket and lingorcha. Teachers took group selfies in the allotted places.
The second day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Parish Priest and Rector, Father Michael Bansode who appreciated the efforts and sacrifices made by the teachers. Class celebrations which included power point presentations, personalised greeting cards, self-composed songs, poems and the latest Bollywood dances, followed.
After the class celebrations, the teachers were greeted with a thunderous applause as they entered the school hall for a common event. Action songs by kindergarten students, choral renditions, a heart-touching depiction of teachers' involvement in school, a skit bringing out the importance of a teacher and some energetic dance performances enthralled the teachers.
Retired teacher, Vijayalaxmi Narayanan, said, "I miss the school so much, I eagerly look forward to this occasion. I meet my colleagues and recall old times. It's a wonderful initiative by Father Bosco." Nayana Gamare, another teacher, added, "I feel I am back in school, these tasks look so simple but need a lot of energy. It's fun to be a kid again."
