MUMBAI, FEB 27, 2018: The environment was the theme for the Annual Thanksgiving Day programme for Bosco Boys Home (BBH) in Borivli on February 24.
Keeping in mind the present situation of environmental pollution, technical students presented a skit communicating the message, ‘Save the environment’.
A highlight was the musical play titled – ‘Power of Love’, based on the story of a boy named Mickey who made his journey from eternal hatred to eternal love. The journey begins when Mickey, a street boy who comes in contact with a Don Bosco Priest, who helps him come out of his dark ways into the bright light of love, joy and cheerful living.
A display of cultural dances namely Koli from Maharashtra, Kunbi from Goa and Garba from Gujarat were performed by the students of the Institute. A precise report of the activities and courses offered at Bosco Boys Home was then presented by Alan D’silva.
Father Solomon Rapol felicitated the Chief Guest, Father Lancy Silva, parish priest of St. Louis Parish, Dahisar and a few other guests.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a graceful prayer dance. The rector of BBH, Father Rapol, then welcomed the gathering and thanked all present for their presence. “Let us learn to deal with love, kindness, and generosity,” he said. The scouts then performed an energetic drill consisting ten formations.
Father Silva, in his address, said, “I was amazed at the way the boy standing at the apex of the formation, fell back unhesitant, trusting fully in the boys who were there to hold him.”
The evening concluded with the vote of thanks delivered Mayuri Rajbonshi, coordinator of Bosco Boys Home.
