BIS #5319 CAREER GUIDANCE FOR BASTI KIDS

MUMBAI, MAR 2, 2018: Mumbai Provincial Federation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco in collaboration with Progmanmatrix Institute conducted a career guidance session for over hundred basti kids of the evening classes and boarders of St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri on March 1.

Father Shekhar Mariadas, the administrator and vice rector of the house set the tone for the session by welcoming the gathering. He invited Pratik Upadaya, Director of Progmanmatrix Institute, who was the resource person and Amarr Prabhu, Principal, St. Joseph's ITI, to give an introduction about the session.

Prabhu briefly introduced the day's topics and thanked the Salesian community of the Andheri Institute namely Father Brian Moraes, Rector and Father Mariadas for allowing them to conduct the session for the basti kids and boarders.   

Upadaya started by setting up the ground rules for the audience. He explained why planning a career was important. He stressed on the various career options available to the youth after their SSC, HSC and graduation. 

Upadaya further briefed the youngsters about government and non-government job opportunities and the various competitive exams that offer youth an opportunity to aim for a brighter future.
