BIS #5569 MONSOON MELA FOR STREET BOYS

 MUMBAI, JUNE 28, 2018: Monsoon is the season of joy but one also has to be wary of its major illness like dengue, malaria, chikungunya, typhoid, jaundice, diarrhea, viral fever, cold and flu. Since the boys living on the streets of Mumbai are more prone to the hazards of the season, Shelter Don Bosco in their monthly mela on June 20, aimed to create awarness about healthy living.

Around 75 boys from different parts of Mumbai came to Shelter Don Bosco, where they were edducated on taking precautionary measures during the rainy season. Salve, a nurse at Don Bosco Health Centre, Wadala, took the session on maintaing personal hygiene, especially with the use of public lavatories.

Indoor games, drawing competition, musical chairs, jam session and other activities kept the Mela lively for the youngsters, who enjoyed their day at Shelter Don Bosco.
