by Father Leon RodriguesLONAVLA, FEB 19, 2019: Day two of the Provincial Chapter (PC 2019) of the Mumbai province, held at Don Bosco Lonavla, began on February 19 at the feet of the Lord as PC 2019 celebrated the birthday of Father Cletus D
’Souza.
In his homily, Father D’Souza called the capitulars to a renewal of their call as Salesians enhancing the ‘life’ and being ‘love’ and ‘light’ to the young.
Father Christopher George took the Roll Call. The Secretary to PC 2019, Father Vinod Mascarenhas then read the minutes of the previous day, which was approved.
In the morning session, Commission 2 presented their document ‘The Profile of the Salesian’ on the floor of the Chapter. There was a healthy discussion on the paper.
Commission 3 then presented their document entitled ‘Shared mission between Salesians and Laity’. The capitulars discussed the paper and put forth suggestions.
The afternoon session saw the Juridical Commission present their paper ‘Juridical Matters.’ The paper was well deliberated on the floor of the Chapter.
In the evening session Commission 1 presented the second draft of their paper entitled ‘Priority of the Mission with the Young’. The floor of the chapter suggested a few changes to be made in the second draft.
The day ended in the presence of the Lord, thanking and praising the Lord for the gift of Father Cletus D’souza and a fructuous study of all the documents that were presented.
