WALVANDA, MAY 20, 2019: Over 70 tribal children are currently attending a month-long summer camp that focuses on talent development, English language coaching, and indoor games organised by Don Bosco Walvanda from April to May 25.

The youth attending the camp are from standard three to nine. The secondary purpose of the summer club is to groom children to become good leaders and effective citizens of their village and society at large. The children hail from villages around Walvanda.

The children, during the course of the summer club, have also learned how to make new friends, work in a team, care for the environment, develop their leadership skills, and how to live a healthy life by avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and smoking. They also attended career guidance sessions to help them plan for their future life.

The children have been in contact with Don Bosco Walvanda through its’ Sunday oratory. After the completion of the club, they will continue to be in touch with the organisation through the Sunday oratory.

Father Anaclete D’mello, Rector BSVS Walvanda, was the mastermind behind the club. Brother Aegidius Pereira and Saby Francis are coordinating and conducting various activities for the summer club.
