WALVANDA, MAY 28, 2019: Over a hundred youth attended the second edition of the residential English summer camp at Don Bosco Walvanda from May 16 to 26.
The primary aim of the camp was to create local children leaders in villages located in Mokhada and Jawhar. The children learned English, computer basics, life skills, value education, leadership, career guidance, and also enjoyed their time by playing many creative and innovative games.
Some youth were members of the children’s parliament from various villages. A parliament is a group formed with school children to create awareness among them about child rights.
Father Anaclete D’Mello, the Rector of Don Bosco Walvanda, planned and prepared the camp facilitators and children for the event through various training workshops.
Father Kiran Salve inaugurated the camp in the presence of Brother Anthony D’souza. Cleric Aegidius Pereira and Saby Francis were the camp coordinators.
The children also participated in various competitions like singing, dancing, skits, and drawing during the camp which gave them the opportunity to display their talents.
