MATUNGA, MARCH 06, 2012: Twenty eight Deanery Catechists from Matunga, Wadala West, Wadala East, Dadar East, Parel, Sewri, Sion, (1), Sion(2) and Lower Parel met in the AV Hall of Don Bosco Youth Services, on Sunday February 26, 2012. This last recollection of the year like in the past, regrettably drew a much smaller number, but the participants were totally involved nevertheless.
Fr. K.T. Emmanuel concluded the three presentations he has offered to the Catechists this year. He elaborated on the theme, "The Liturgical Cycle of the Church". His talk was enlivened by his well prepared Power Point slides. After this there were pertinent questions raised that brought out further clarifications.
The assembly then broke into four groups. They shared the insights they had gained and discussed ways and means on how our children could be helped to celebrate the Liturgy more fruitfully. This follows the proposal by the Archdiocese that has declared this to be the Year of the Living Liturgy. During the Prayer Service that followed, each Group read out a brief reflection on the theme and recited a prayer related to their experience. A delicious meal brought the programme to a close. All were unanimous in their appreciation for the enriching time spent together.
This programme also brought the curtain down on the celebrations of Faith that the Archdiocesan Catechetical Centre had lined up during the past year. For the fruitful accomplishment of each of the activities, we gratefully acknowledge the contribution of the members of the team, Ms. Sheryl Dalgado and Mr. Lloyd Nunes and the Office staff, Ms. Joyce Dias and Mr. Francis D'Souza. God bless their generous collaboration.
