CHOTTAUDEPUR AUGUST 22, 2012: August 15, being the feast of Immaculate Assumption and also being the Sixty Fifth Independence day of India, Don Bosco Chottaudepur celebrated this day with the flag hoisting ceremony at 8:00am in the school followed by flag hoisting ceremony at chottaudepur Assembly Ground for all the schools, colleges, police units and the local people of Chottaudepur.
Around six schools, one college and two police units were present for the ceremony. Among the guests were Mr. S. N. Patel (Tribal welfare officer), Mr. K. A. Pandya (Mamledar), Mr. Gulsingh Rathwa (MLA).
The flag was then hoisted by S. N. Patel, with the National Anthem sung by Don Bosco school choir group. Mr. K. A. Pandaya gave a speech and stressed on ‘India becoming a better country.
After the speech the Forest Department of Vadodara honoured Fr. James Tuscano with a Token of Appreciation for conservation of Ecology and giving importance to planting trees. ‘Go Green’ being the theme of the school, the school has planted and distributed 4060 saplings among the students and neighbouring institutes. The Feast day ended with a Solemn Mass at 6:00pm.
